We stop in a cool dark cafe for ice chocolate with Nanna
And Matai practices bouncing, while the others rest their weary legs.
Later, all dressed up for a night at the Japanese restaurant
The wind picks up and throws storm into the sky
While Miro carries Matai on his shoulders
And Daddy walks swiftly behind.

Is to cruise to the oven and steal two coarse, bright dish-cloths
Which, for some reason, he wants to put on his head, over and over again,
And scrunch and chew and stretch and wear again.
When Nanny makes one into a headscarf, he is so happy!
