Where Miro urges jellyfish back into the water and fights with noisy ducks,
While Matai munches cookies embraced by Daddy on the pier.

Mummy takes to distracting him with items during changes
And today finds some flowers that Miro picked on the street.

Fighting his brother for tricycle rights;
Kicking his fat thighs with delight on a tiny bushwalk;
And off like a shot
Every time he spots a lone pigeon.

Matai's first actions, on discovering how to move the walker around,
Is to cruise to the oven and steal two coarse, bright dish-cloths
Which, for some reason, he wants to put on his head, over and over again,
And scrunch and chew and stretch and wear again.
When Nanny makes one into a headscarf, he is so happy!
