Today our precious little man turns Three.
He starts his day with Nanny feeding him his beloved porridge,
And is beyond excited at finally getting to open
His Optimus Prime Fire Station!
Later on, at the little birthday picnic we have for him
(Intentionally small as he doesn't seem to like crowds)
He starts off as Optimus Prime, switches temporarily to Spiderman,
And plays Transformers with his friends in the big puddles of the park.
But the cake is his main attraction, and finally he comes up to Mummy,
Saying "I'm a little bit tired now; I think I'd like a little rest..."
It's our cue to cut the cake, where sweet little voices
Rise in Happy Birthday, and Tai sits smitten,
Before retiring to his little bed on the ground (cake uneaten)
And sleeping away the rest of the afternoon.
When we ask him what he loved best about the day,
It's the Optimus Prime Fire Station and the Optimus Prime Cake.
A happy little man, and our hearts just as happy for him,
And blessed to be growing together.
