This morning, before his bath
Mummy brought Matai into bed with the family
Where they fell asleep facing each other.
A little while later, when Mummy had fallen asleep,
She awoke to feel Matai's little nose pressing against hers
And opening her eyes, saw his face in a peaceful sleeping smile
While, like an Eskimo kiss, he left his nose there.
